Job summary

Capstone Foster Care is seeking a Team Manager to lead, develop and support a small team delivering high-quality fostering services in the South West. You will work from home in the Hampshire or Dorset area and liaise with local authorities to increase family matches and opportunities.

The role requires SWE registration, knowledge of the Children Act 1989 and safeguarding standards, plus experience in fostering social work and team development. A full driving license is essential.

Qualifications

• Requires SWE registration and a relevant social work qualification.
• Up-to-date knowledge of the Children Act 1989.
• Operational knowledge of national fostering standards and related legislation.
• Experience in fostering or children’s social work and in assessing potential foster carers.

Responsibilities

• Manage, motivate and support a team of two Supervising Social Workers and a Children's Champion.
• Develop the team's capabilities and expand the area across the South West with local authorities.
• Ensure carers are informed of and comply with safeguarding standards and policies.
• Work with senior management on an annual business plan and service development.

Home Based within Hampshire or Dorset

We are looking for a Team Manager to manage, motivate, develop and support the day to day work of a team of 2 Supervising Social Workers and a Children's Champion. Helping to develop our area across the South West region by building and maintaining good relations with local authorities within the area to increase family matches and business opportunities.

The Team Manager ensures that carers are informed of, and fully comply with all standards, policies and guidance, including safer caring guidelines agreed by Capstone Foster Care. Working in partnership with other team members to provide a high quality and safe service for our foster families and the children/young people they look after.

Applicants will have:

• A relevant Social Work qualification and be SWE registered.
• An up to date knowledge of the Children's Act 1989
• Operational knowledge of the National Minimum Standards for Fostering Services; Fostering Services Regulations 2011, The Care Standards Act 2000 and any other legislation relevant to the needs of looked after children, care leavers and foster carers.
• Ideally three years experience of working in a fostering related social work and/or children's social work, experience of assessing potential foster carers is essential.
• Experience in supporting team development
• Supervisory experience plus experience in delivering training would be a bonus
• You will hold a full current drivers license and understand the need to at times work unsociable hours when on duty and as needed for care supervision and other placement related needs.
