Qualifications

• Degree in Social Work, CQSW, DipSW or equivalent.
• Practice Educator qualification or willingness to achieve.
• Evidence of continued professional development.
• Registration with Social Work England.
• Significant post-qualification experience in Children’s Social Care.
• Substantial fostering services experience, including supervision of foster carers.
• Previous management, Assistant Team Manager, or senior practitioner experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, and supervise a team of social workers and fostering professionals.
• Oversee recruitment, assessment, approval, review, and retention of foster carers.
• Ensure safeguarding arrangements and risk management for children in care.
• Monitor quality of assessments, care planning, and case management.
• Chair professional meetings and contribute to fostering panels and matching decisions.
