Job summary

Randstad Care is assisting Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council in recruiting an experienced Supervising Social Worker and Kinship Care Assessor. Based in Rotherham with hybrid working, you will assess and supervise foster carers and complete Form K assessments.

The role offers a full-time initial 3-month contract with extension potential up to 6–9 months, and a pay rate of £35 per hour. You will work within an Ofsted-rated Outstanding service and have opportunities for professional

Qualifications

• Recognised Social Work degree (or equivalent) with active Social Work England registration.
• Minimum 2 years' post-qualifying experience within a fostering service setting.
• Hands-on experience as Supervising Social Worker and completing Form K assessments.
• Knowledge of National Minimum Standards for Fostering Services (2011).

Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive assessment, supervision, and ongoing support to foster carers and kinship carers.
• Complete high-quality Form K Assessments for kinship carers.
• Deliver training programs for carers to ensure safe, stable placements.
• Apply thorough assessment, analytical, and recording skills aligned with statutory safeguarding responsibilities.
• Promote an empathetic understanding of the needs of looked-after children and young people.

Key Requirements

• Qualification & Registration: Recognised Social Work degree (or equivalent) with active Social Work England registration.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years' post-qualifying experience within a fostering service setting.
• Core Skills: Proven experience as a Supervising Social Worker and hands‑on experience completing Form K assessments.
• Knowledge Base: Sound understanding of relevant legislation, statutory regulations, and the National Minimum Standards for Fostering Services (2011).
