Job summary

Peterborough City Council is seeking a qualified and experienced Social Worker to join the Peterborough Fostering Service. You will supervise and support foster carers, undertake fostering assessments when required, and contribute to recruitment of new foster carers.

You will work with carers, children and young people, and other professionals to provide high-quality care. We value practice education, reflective supervision, and a supportive workplace.

Qualifications

• Experience in fostering or a desire to develop your fostering practice.
• Ability to build positive working relationships with foster carers, children and young people, and associated professionals.
• Willingness to participate in the out-of-hours rota and to provide regular supervision and support.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support foster carers to ensure high-quality care.
• Undertake fostering assessments as required.
• Contribute to recruitment of new foster carers and promote safeguarding.
• Participate in the out-of-hours Foster Carers Support Line rota to provide guidance.
