Job summary

Tripod Partners is seeking an experienced Senior Supervising Social Worker to join our Kinship/Assessment Team in Surrey. You will recruit, assess and supervise foster carers, and support positive outcomes for Looked After Children.

Based in Surrey, the role requires expertise in Form F assessments, safeguarding and partnership work with children's social care and other agencies. The position offers a rewarding opportunity within a supportive team.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, assess and supervise foster carers and their families.
• Support the growth of the fostering service by increasing the pool of suitable foster carers.
• Provide foster carers with appropriate training, guidance and regular supervision.
• Assess prospective foster carers and prepare Form F assessments for presentation to Foster Panel.
• Work alongside children's social workers and partner agencies to promote effective Corporate Parenting.
• Ensure foster carers are supported to meet the individual needs of Looked After Children.
• Monitor placements and ensure children and young people are appropriately safeguarded.
• Ensure care plans are implemented and that children receive the services and support they require.
• Advocate for Looked After Children and promote their ability to reach their full potential across the five outcomes.
• Maintain high‑quality records and complete reports in line with statutory and departmental requirements.
• Work in accordance with relevant legislation, safeguarding procedures, departmental policies and professional standards.
• Contribute to complaints, confidentiality, file access and other statutory responsibilities as required.
