Oliver Bernard is seeking a Senior Forward Deployed Engineer for a leading wealth management firm’s AI Deployment team in London. The role centers on production software engineering with AI, turning vague pain points into shipped systems and enabling self-serve AI tooling across the company.

You’ll work on Python pipelines, agent workflows, and the engineering layer between models and live customer features, while building guardrails, sandboxing, and reusable workflows.

Forward Deployed Engineer | Wealth Management | Up to £115k + bonus

I'm hiring for a Senior Forward Deployed Engineer to join a leading wealth management firm's new AI Deployment team. This is the first of several hires, reporting directly into the Head of AI Platforms & Deployment.

This is production software engineering with AI at its core. It isn't ML modelling, data science, or chatbot prompting. You'll embed with departments across the business, turn vague pain points into scoped, shipped systems, and then help turn those engagement patterns into self-serve, company-wide AI tooling.

What you'll work on

• Departmental engagements: going beyond "just ask Claude" to build Python pipelines and agent workflows that become load-bearing business processes
• Customer-facing AI deployment: being the engineering layer between a working ML model and a live customer feature
• AI platform capabilities: building guardrails, sandboxing, workflows and gateways that others can reuse

What we're looking for

• Python as your primary language
• LLM-powered systems you've actually shipped to production (harnesses, orchestration, tool use, agents, RAG where it fits)
• Hands-on experience with evals, guardrails, PII handling, prompt-injection awareness and human-in-the-loop design
• Comfort with ambiguity, and the ability to partner with non-technical stakeholders
• A background in software engineering, AI, data science or forward-deployed engineering

Up to £115k base + bonus

London-based, 2 days per week in the office
