Job summary

Fortescue Zero operates a 12-month (Summer 2027 – Summer 2028) student placement programme within the Vehicle Performance group. You will work with highly skilled engineering professionals and graduates who you can learn from; many placements transition into graduate roles after degree completion.

To be eligible, you should be pursuing a STEM degree with knowledge of vehicle dynamics, control systems and programming (MATLAB, Python, JavaScript, C#, C, C++ and OOP) would be advantageous.

Qualifications

• Working towards a STEM degree in a relevant field.
• Understanding of vehicle dynamics and control systems is advantageous.
• Programming knowledge in MATLAB, Python, JavaScript, C# or C/C++ is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Analysis of car, rig, simulator, and model data to unlock performance.
• Analyze race data with strategists to improve decision making.
• Be part of the Ops Room, supporting the race team at the track.
• Develop software tools and models to automate processes and analyses.
• Contribute to pre-event and post-event analyses of car, tyre, systems and strategy.
