Job summary

Fortel is seeking a Form Works Supervisor for an on-site role in Ipswich. The position involves hands-on supervision of formwork, concrete, and related civil works, with responsibility for health and safety, RAMS, and coordination of crews and subcontractors.

Hours are 7:00am–18:00, with 2 days off every other weekend. Overtime applies after 39 hours. DBS check and drug/alcohol testing are required for nuclear site access.

Qualifications

• CSCS Gold/Black card valid.
• SSSTS or SMSTS approved.
• Up-to-date CV provided.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing concrete operations, formwork, rebar, drainage, and groundworks; setting contractors and crews to work.
• Monitoring health, safety, RAMS and quality.
• Coordinate labour, subcontractors, plant, and materials to ensure progress is safe and efficient.
• Assist with daily briefings, task allocations, and on-site coordination.
• Monitor work quality, productivity, and adherence to specifications.
• Maintain communication with site management, engineers, and other supervisors.
• Read engineering drawings; direct experience with formwork, concrete, and civil construction techniques.
• Strong all-round civils background: structures, earthworks, and general construction operations.

• Monitor work quality, productivity, and adherence to specifications
• Maintain communication with site management, engineers, and other supervisors
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings; direct experience with formwork, concrete, and civil construction techniques.
• Strong all-round civils background: structures, earthworks, and general construction operations

Must pass a DBS criminal record check and mandatory drug and alcohol testing for nuclear site access. 1, 2, 3, 4
