Job summary

Pertemps Gloucester is hiring a hands-on Yard Operative in Gloucester. You’ll operate a Counterbalance forklift, load/unload vehicles, move stock, and assist customers by recommending suitable products.

This is a full-time, temp-to-perm role with consistent hours and opportunities for training. The role requires a valid forklift licence, yard experience, customer-facing skills, good communication, and strict health and safety awareness.

Qualifications

• Valid Counterbalance Forklift Licence (essential).
• Previous Yard Operative experience (essential).
• Experience in a customer facing environment.
• Ability to understand customer needs and recommend appropriate products.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Strong awareness of health and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Operating a Counterbalance Forklift safely and efficiently.
• Loading and unloading vehicles.
• Moving stock and materials around the yard.
• Serving customers in a professional and friendly manner.
• Understanding customer requirements and assisting them in selecting suitable products.
• Picking customer orders accurately and organising stock within the yard.
• Assisting with goods in and goods out processes.
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised working environment.
• Adhering to all health and safety procedures.
• Supporting with general yard duties as required.
