Job summary

Barfoots of Botley is hiring a Forklift & Warehouse Operative for DAY SHIFT with 4 days on, 4 days off across our sites. You will support busy Logistics by loading/unloading, handling products, and using MHE in a temperature-controlled warehouse.

Join a team focused on safe, timely, and efficient warehousing tasks. Full training provided; opportunities on Leythorne or Sefter sites with clear pathways for development within a growing company.

Qualifications

• Experience in a Fresh Produce or FMCG warehousing environment preferred.
• Forklift / Counter Balance Licence and MHE experience preferred.
• Basic verbal English communication.
• Confident and proactive with ability to meet deadlines.
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
• Team player who communicates well.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload delivery vehicles.
• Move finished products to despatch from production.
• Move raw materials safely to storage locations.
• Train across Leythorne and Sefter sites for warehousing duties.
• Follow SOPs and maintain safety standards.
• Aim for zero errors and high customer satisfaction.
• Maintain clean as you go and safety practices.
• Report hazards or accidents to the manager promptly.
• Support continuous improvements in processes.

Job description

Forklift & Warehouse Operative Full time DAY SHIFT positions, 4 days on, 4 days off With various opportunities across our sites, duties and responsibilities will be centred around our busy Logistics departments. Working as part of a team, our warehouse operators and forklift drivers assist with the safe transfer of produce to and from production and storage areas, as well as picking & packing orders and loading unloading delivery vehicles utilising MHE and Forklift trucks where necessary. You will be confident working in a busy, temperature controlled, warehouse environment and manoeuvring goods around safely both inside and out. Reporting to the Team Leader, you will be passionate about providing a first class service at all times and be responsible for ensuring all operational warehousing tasks are completed in a safe, timely and efficient manner. Operating in both inside and outside areas with associated responsibilities. Opportunities could be either Sefter Farm or Leythorne site based.

Key Responsibilities

• Loading & Unloading of delivery vehicles
• Ensure safe transfer/locating of finished products to despatch from production
• Ensure safe transfer/locating of raw materials
• To be trained for all warehousing area duties across both Leythorne and Sefter sites
• Adherence to all trained SOPs
• Focus on internal and external customer satisfaction with zero errors
• To operate clean as you go principles whilst carrying out duties
• To maintain high standards of health and safety in all operating areas
• Hazards and accidents reported to the manager in a timely manner
• Focus on continuous improvements
• *Full training provided as applicable to role

Required Knowledge, Skills & Experience

• Previous experience in a Fresh Produce or FMCG Warehousing environment (Preferred)
• Forklift / Counter Balance Licence and experience utilising MHE prefereable
• Able to communicate effectively using basic verbal English
• Confident and proactive with experience working to deadlines
• Experience of working in a fast paced environment
• Be an effective Team Player
