Job summary

Ball Corporation is seeking a reliable forklift operator to ensure continuous production by transporting materials and finishing goods as required. The role requires operating and supervising equipment, maintaining safety standards, and handing over duties smoothly between shifts.

Candidates should have a valid B1 reach & counterbalance forklift license, prior experience in high-speed production, strong attention to detail, and fluent English for communication across teams.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Transport production materials, packaging and finished items to support production needs.
• Ensure handling vehicle is safe and maintained; complete required paperwork.
• Operate and supervise area equipment in safe, efficient condition.
• Assist cleaning and general maintenance; report anomalies.
• Perform checks per the quality system control plan.
• Provide effective handover to the next Crew at shift end.

Job description

• Ensure production does not stop by transporting production materials, substances, packaging, finished and semi-finished products in relation to production needs and in accordance with manufacturing specifications.
• Make sure that the handling vehicle supplied is in perfect working condition at all times, verifying, with the established frequency, the safe condition of the vehicle and filling in the appropriate paperwork.
• Carry out all the handling of materials and products in compliance with the times, storage locations, the needs of the production lines and the needs of the Operators requesting the material.
• Operate, power and supervise the machines and equipment in the area of competence in perfect conditions of use and operation.
• Participate in cleaning, general maintenance. Maintain efficiently all the instrumentation necessary for carrying out measurements, tests and controls and report any anomalies and failures.
• To help maintain compliance with the FSSC22000 Standard. Observe the regulations on Occupational Safety, Hygiene, Environment and HACCP. Observe the Worker Code of Conduct.
• Perform operations that refer to assigned tasks to enable the smooth operation of production lines.
• Carry out the assigned checks as per the control plan required by the quality system.
• Complete an effective handover to the next Crew, at the end of their shift, to allow the smooth continuation of the production process. Fork truck license is essential - B1 reach & counterbalance, and double handler attachment.
• Accuracy and attention to detail.
• Previous experience in high speed production and manufacturing.
• English language skills - written, verbal and reading are essential as communication skills are essential.

Base salary - starting salary is £33,475 per annum, increasing to £36,050 per annum upon completion of the first phase of the skills matrix and a further increase to £38,625 per annum upon full completion of the skills matrix. This role involves shift work - 12 hour shifts, working days, nights and weekends
