Job summary

Ball Corporation is seeking a Press Operator to control the production of basic aluminium cans from slug to finished product, including washing and lacquering stages.

You will set up and operate press equipment, record production data, check cans against specifications, and seek continuous process improvements in a rotating days/nights schedule (6am-6pm, 6pm-6am), four weeks on each shift.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in maintenance / mechanical-biased role - mandatory.
• Previous experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment - preferred.
• Good communication and understanding skills.
• Fluency in written and spoken English.

Position Overview

The main role of our Press Operators is to control the process of producing a basic can, from a slug of aluminium through to the washing and internal lacquering process, ensuring that the can meets customer requirements.

• Set up, operate, and clean a press machine that transforms aluminum slugs into cans.
• Carry out measurements on cans to ensure they meet specifications and quality expectations.
• Perform basic mechanical tasks and apply mechanical knowledge during operations.
• Accurately record all production data in the required format at the required interval.

• Constantly look for opportunities to improve the process or product.

What We Are Looking For

• Previous experience in maintenance / mechanical-biased role - mandatory

• Fluency in written and spoken English.

This role is working a rotating shift pattern which includes days, nights and weekends.

The hours are 6am - 6pm and 6pm-6am and the rotation is 4 weeks on days and 4 weeks on nights.

The Work Week Is

Week 1 - Mon - Tues - Fri - Sat - Sun

Week 2 - Wed - Thurs
