Job summary

DS Smith in Ely is seeking a safety-minded Goods Out FLT Driver to join our busy site. You will help move finished goods, load vehicles, and ensure accurate stock records.

Reporting to the Despatch Manager, you will work as part of a two-person team, maintain safety practices, and contribute to KPIs and timely customer service.

We value accuracy, teamwork, and a proactive approach to continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 12 months’ continuous experience operating a Forklift Truck.
• Valid B1 Counterbalance FLT Licence up to 5,000kg.
• Experience loading and unloading a variety of pallet types.
• Previous experience within a manufacturing or production environment.
• Strong understanding of health and safety best practices.
• Experience working to KPIs and deadlines within a fast-paced operation.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good understanding of stock control processes and documentation checks.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to make informed decisions and work effectively as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Gathering stock from warehouse and production locations.
• Loading a variety of vehicles, including articulated trailers, rigid vehicles, and vans.
• Performing daily FLT safety and operational checks.
• Reporting any vehicle defects or maintenance requirements promptly.
• Ensuring all stock movements are accurately recorded and supported by the correct documentation.
• Working safely and in accordance with DS Smith Safe Systems of Work.
• Adhering to workplace transport, health & safety, and site operating procedures at all times.
• Supporting the wider operations team to achieve departmental KPIs and customer service targets.
• Contributing ideas and improvements to enhance safety, quality, and operational efficiency.

Working within our Goods Out department, you will play a vital role in ensuring finished products are accurately picked, checked, and loaded safely and on time. About the Role

Working Pattern:

40 hours per week, Monday to Friday (Rotating Double Day Shift)

• Week 1: 06:00 - 14:00
• Week 2: 14:00 - 22:00
