Job summary

The Pallet Network Ltd is seeking a forklift operative at our East Midlands hub. You will safely operate LPG counterbalance forklifts to load, unload, move and organise palletised freight, using mounted scanners to record movements and ensure traceability.

You will work with Team Leaders, follow safety procedures, perform pre-use checks, keep areas clean, and support hub activity as needed. A valid forklift licence and at least one year of experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Valid forklift licence (RTITB or equivalent) with at least 1 year of experience.
• Experience operating gas/diesel counterbalance trucks; electric trucks considered.
• Good literacy and numeracy to support paperwork and freight handling.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work safely in a fast-paced environment.
• Reliable, flexible and team-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate LPG counterbalance forklift trucks to load, unload, move, and organise palletised freight.
• Use forklift-mounted scanning technology to record freight movements and support traceability.
• Handle goods with care following site procedures for scanning, labeling and placement.
• Work with Team Leaders and colleagues to meet daily targets.
• Follow health and safety procedures and report risks or unsafe practices.
• Complete daily pre-use checks and report faults or maintenance needs.
• Keep work areas clean, organised and compliant with company standards.
• Provide operational support as needed, including freight checks and bay organisation.
