Job summary

Recruitment Helpline Ltd in Chesterfield is seeking a forklift fitter/engineer to join their established team. The role focuses on installation, wiring, assembly, testing and servicing of forklift trucks and related equipment.

You will travel to customer sites and work both independently and with the team to meet deadlines. The position offers a permanent contract, a 39-hour week with overtime opportunities, and benefits including holiday entitlement, a company bonus, pension, and development

Qualifications

• Good mechanical experience required.
• Hydraulic experience preferred.
• Experience with DC electrical circuits is desirable.
• Willingness to learn new skills and expand existing knowledge.
• Good communication skills are important.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites.
• Must hold a full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Installation of hydraulic and electrical components.
• Building wiring circuits in accordance with wiring diagrams.
• Final construction and testing of forklift trucks.
• Basic machining where required.
• Service and maintenance of in-service equipment.
• Occasional travel to customer sites.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Job Profile

The applicant will have good general engineering skills and ideally experienced in assembly or repair & maintenance of industrial machines. A basic understanding of hydraulics and DC electrics is required. The successful candidate will be well supported within the manufacturing team and undergo comprehensive training but will be expected to meet deadlines from the outset and their performance will be monitored. The company has high expectations of all employees.

The Role
