Job summary

Randstad is seeking a Forklift Driver (FLT) for Perkins/Caterpillar in Peterborough. You will operate counterbalance forklifts, move components, and support safe warehouse operations in a busy manufacturing environment.

Full training will be provided for upskilling on additional MHE equipment, with opportunities for progression through performance reviews and potential temp-to-perm opportunities. Suitable ABA-recognised licences are essential.

Qualifications

• Must hold an ABA-recognised forklift licence (NPORS/RTITB/AITT/ITSSAR).
• Essential: B1 - Counterbalance Forklift Truck.
• Desirable: additional MHE certifications (A5, F1, P1, A2, H1).

Responsibilities

• Operate B1 Counterbalance forklift trucks safely and efficiently.
• Transport, pack, and scan engine components.
• Maintain warehouse flow using basic PC skills and handheld scanners.
• Follow standard operating procedures with attention to detail.
• Perform aided manual handling tasks as needed.

Example of Shift Options

• Option 1: Days & Afternoons (Fortnightly Rotation)
• Days: Mon-Thu 6:00am-2:45pm | Fri 6:00am-12:00pm
• Afternoons: Mon-Wed 2:45pm-1:30am | Thu 2:45pm-11:30pm
• Option 2: 3-Shift Rotation (Weekly Rotation)
• Mornings: 6:00am-2:00pm | Afternoons: 2:00pm-10:00pm | Nights: 10:00pm-6:00am

Your Role & Responsibilities

• Perform aided manual handling tasks as needed to keep operations running

What We're Looking For

• An internal or external forklift licence accredited by an ABA-recognised body (NPORS, RTITB, AITT, ITSSAR)
• Essential: B1 - Counterbalance Forklift Truck
• Desirable (Additional MHE Certifications): A5 (Pedestrian/Rider Pallet Stacker), F1 (VNA Operator), P1 (Pivot Steer/Flexi), A2 (LLOP), or H1 (Tow Tractors & Trailers)
