Job summary

Smurfit Westrock in Leeds is seeking a Fork Lift Truck Operator to join a busy sheet plant. You will contribute to a safety‑driven, collaborative team and help move materials to support production targets.

The role rewards reliability, good communication, and the ability to follow strict quality and hygiene standards. Full training is provided, with opportunities for progression and a welcoming, inclusive culture.

Qualifications

• Current Counterbalance Fork Lift Truck licence is essential.
• Good communication skills (written and verbal) are needed.

• Shift hours: Monday - Thursday 9.30 am - 6.00 pm; Friday 8.00 am - 3.00 pm.

The Role

We have a vacancy for a Fork Lift Truck Operator within our Leeds Sheet Plant.

To be successful you will need to be highly motivated, focused and driven, demonstrating a positive can do and safe attitude, together with excellent self‑organisation and teamwork skills. We are looking for applicants who are great communicators and able to work as part of a team to meet operational targets in line with the site's Health & Safety culture.

Previous experience within a busy production site is preferred, but full training on all processes will be provided to successful candidates that demonstrate a keen interest to be part of the team.

Key responsibilities include:

• Shift hours : Monday - Thursday 9.30 am - 6.00 pm / Friday 8.00 am - 3.00 pm
• Understand and work to high Health & Safety standards, including reporting any H&S issues.
• Complying with Quality and Hygiene specifications and requirements.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Current Counterbalance Fork Lift Truck licence is essential
• Ability to follow health & safety policies and procedures.
• A strong work ethic and ability to work to tight deadlines.
• Good team player ethos - able to work as part of a team and on their own.
• Self-motivation and good organisation skills.
• Good attention to detail.
• Good communication skills both written and verbal.
