Job summary

Smurfit Westrock is seeking a proactive FLT Driver/Material Handling operative at Markham Vale North. You will manage day-to-day loading, unloading, and pallet movements, ensuring safe operations and adherence to site procedures.

The role requires counterbalance FLT competence, knowledge of warehouse safety, accurate pallet stacking, and the ability to work to deadlines within a team. Training opportunities and benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Essential Counterbalance/FLT operation experience.
• Knowledge of warehouse Health and Safety requirements.
• Able to stack/unstack pallets safely and accurately.
• Move pallets from storage to loading areas for transport.
• Excellent time management with flexibility to meet deadlines.
• Reliable, self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

The Role

A vacancy has arisen for a FLT Driver/Material Handling at our Markham Vale North Site.
Reporting to a Shift Team Leader, you will be responsible for the day to day operations within the factory facility as well as the safe and efficient loading/unloading of pallets, whilst health and safety is adhered to at all times.
This challenging position demands a proactive “hands on” approach, complimented by accuracy, adherence to deadlines and laid down procedures

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE MUST HAVE:

• Counterbalance / FLT - Essential
• Knowledge of warehouse Health and Safety requirements.
• Safe stacking and unstacking large quantities of pallets into racking
• Moving pallets from storage areas to loading areas for transport
• Unloading deliveries and safely relocating the pallets to their designated storage areas
• Excellent time management with a flexible approach to work
• Skills : accuracy, attention to detail, reliability, computer literate
• Able to work to tight deadlines and targets - under own initiative and as part of a team
• Naturally self-motivated and have the ability to work under minimum supervision
• The willingness to carry out other tasks as and when required
