Job summary

Endless Adventure North East Ltd is seeking an experienced Level 3 Forest School Leader to design, lead and deliver outdoor programmes for learners with SEND and SEMH. The role focuses on safety, inclusivity and EHCP-aligned targets within woodland settings.

You will work across a varied outdoor delivery catalogue, including paddle boarding, climbing and adventure activities, while maintaining safeguarding and high-quality learning experiences for children aged 5+.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years’ experience working with children and young people with SEND and/or SEMH.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Relevant qualification in education, youth work, SEND or related field.
• Experience supporting young people with SEMH and/or SEND needs.
• Understanding of safeguarding and child protection responsibilities.
• Knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and EHCP processes.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing situations.
• Good IT skills and confidence using digital systems.
• Emotional resilience and a solution-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Build positive, professional relationships with children and young people with SEMH and SEND needs.
• Support the delivery of engaging outdoor learning and adventure activities.
• Help create a safe, nurturing and inclusive environment where young people can thrive.
• Promote positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing and personal development.
• Contribute to individual support plans and programme reviews.
• Support young people to achieve outcomes identified within EHCPs and other support plans.
• Work collaboratively with families, schools, local authorities and external professionals.
• Support activity instructors in delivering adventurous outdoor activities safely and effectively.
• Assist in the planning, delivery and evaluation of alternative provision programmes.
• Monitor and manage risks in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Maintain accurate records, reports and safeguarding documentation.
