Job summary

Oscott Manor School in Birmingham is seeking a HLTA to join the Think Differently Education Trust family. You’ll work predominantly at Oscott Manor, supporting Forest School activities and collaborating with the class teacher to plan, prepare and deliver curriculum and interventions for pupils with diverse needs.

Job description

This is a particularly exciting time to join Oscott Manor, the second school who joined the newly established Think Differently Education Trust. We are looking for an HLTA who will be predominantly based at our Oscott Manor centre. Initially, the postholder will support the Forest School Lead, although duties and responsibilities may develop over time in line with the needs of the school and Trust. The HLTA will work closely with and under the guidance and supervision of the primary class teacher to plan, prepare and deliver aspects of the curriculum, interventions and support programmes. Sessions will generally be delivered to small groups of individuals but will also on occasions involve taking the whole class. You will also be required to supervise and support the work of other teaching assistants in the class. The ideal candidate will have the specialist skills to meet the intellectual, physical, social and emotional needs of pupils as well as a HLTA qualification (or equivalent) or working towards it.
