Job summary

Mitie Care & Custody invites applications for a Forensic Psychologist in Training, working with prisoners, staff and stakeholders under supervision of a Registered Forensic Psychologist. The post involves research and developing competency toward qualification.

You will undertake risk assessments, WAIS assessments and contribute to Parole Board proceedings, while developing bespoke interventions to support sentence plans.

Qualifications

• MSc/MA in Forensic Psychology accredited by BPS (or evidence of completing Stage 1 of the BPS Qualification in Forensic Psychology).
• Current member or eligible for Graduate Basis for Chartered membership (GBC).
• Some experience working in forensic or mental health settings.
• Some experience delivering group or individual interventions using psychological models.
• Good knowledge of supervision value and experience as a supervisee.

Responsibilities

• Complete psychological risk assessments for Parole Board.
• Complete psychological assessments such as WAIS for stakeholders.
• Act as professional witness at Parole Board hearings.
• Design and evaluate intervention plans to support sentence planning and reduce reoffending.
• Ensure data handling/HCPC/GDPR compliance in records and processes.

Education

MSc or MA Degree in Forensic Psychology accredited by the British Psychological Society

Graduate Basis for Chartered membership (GBC)

Experience delivering group or individual interventions in forensic/mental health settings

Experience conducting research

Ability to provide supervision as required
