Job summary

Linq Recruitment Specialists is seeking an experienced HCPC Registered Forensic Psychologist to join a specialist low secure mental health service for adults with complex needs, learning disabilities and autism.

As the lead psychologist you will provide specialist assessment, formulation and interventions, predominantly individual therapy with some group work, and you will line manage an Assistant Psychologist while providing clinical supervision.

Qualifications

  • HCPC Practitioner Psychologist registration.
  • Recognised postgraduate qualification leading to HCPC registration.
  • Minimum 2 years' post-qualification experience as a psychologist.
  • Experience in forensic/secure services, prisons or similar complex mental health settings.
  • Experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities and/or autism.
  • Knowledge of autism assessment approaches, including ADOS.

Responsibilities

  • Provide specialist psychological assessment, formulation and interventions for a small patient group.
  • Deliver mainly individual therapy; run group work where appropriate.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team on treatment planning, ward rounds, CPA meetings and tribunals.
  • Line manage an Assistant Psychologist and provide clinical supervision.

Job description

Salary: upto £57,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

Hours: Full-Time | 37.5 hours per week

Flexible working available, including compressed hours (Monday–Thursday)

We are recruiting for an experienced HCPC Registered Forensic Psychologist to join a specialist low secure mental health service supporting adults with complex mental health needs, learning disabilities and autism.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a small and supportive service where you will have the autonomy to shape psychological practice, develop innovative approaches and make a meaningful difference to patient care.

The Role

As the lead Psychologist within the service, you will provide specialist psychological assessment, formulation and interventions for a small patient group. You will deliver mainly individual therapy sessions, alongside group work where appropriate, supporting patients with complex presentations including mental health diagnoses, learning disabilities, autism and sexual harm prevention pathways.

You will work closely with the multidisciplinary team, including Occupational Therapy, Social Work and , contributing to treatment planning, ward rounds, CPA meetings and tribunals. You will also line manage an Assistant Psychologist and provide clinical supervision and support.

About You

You will need:

  • HCPC registration as a Practitioner Psychologist.
  • A recognised postgraduate qualification leading to HCPC registration.
  • A minimum of 2 years’ post-qualification experience as a qualified Psychologist.
  • Experience working within forensic, secure services, prisons or a similar complex mental health environment.
  • Experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities and/or autism.
  • Knowledge of autism assessment approaches, including ADOS assessment criteria.
  • The ability to provide clinical supervision and support a Psychologist completing their Doctorate training.
