Qualifications

  • MSc in Forensic psychology (BPS accredited).
  • HCPC registration as Forensic psychologist practitioner.
  • Experience with risk assessment report writing.
  • Supervision of OBPs and 1:1 psychological interventions.
  • Experience with high intensity intervention group work.
  • Ability to design, conduct, analyse and evaluate applied psychological research.

Responsibilities

  • Provide risk assessment and OLR case management, including Risk Management Plans.
  • Supervise high intensity offending behaviour programmes and communicate complex information to RMTs and parole boards.
  • Identify and ensure CPD requirements for HCPC registration are met and attend CPD training.
  • Provide high intensity individual psychological therapy interventions.
  • Line manage Assistant Psychologists and supervise Forensic Psychologists in Training as a Designated Supervisor.
  • Work autonomously across multiple establishments, with risk assessment, treatment interventions, supervision and training.

Job description

In the role of Practitioner Psychologist, you will provide risk assessment and OLR case management, including preparation of Risk Management Plans. You will be required to supervise high intensity offending behaviour programmes and communicate complex psychological information to RMT's and parole boards as required. You will be required to identify and ensure CPD requirements for Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registration are met and attend CPD training in psychological practice as required by psychological services. You will be required to provide high intensity individual psychological therapy intervention work. The successful candidate will be required to provide line management to Assistant Psychologists (AP) and where required, to provide supervision to Forensic Psychologists in Training as a Designated Supervisor.

To work autonomously providing key psychological provision to the requirements of the population, including conducting risk assessment, treatment interventions, supervision, case management and delivering training. You will be able to work across more than one establishment, providing variety to your daily role and supporting continued professional development through breadth of experience.

If you have the following, we would like to hear from you:

  • Evidence of a MSc in Forensic psychology (BPS accredited). (Essential).
  • Evidence of HCPC registration as - Forensic psychologist practitioner. (Essential).
  • Evidence of risk assessment report writing. (Essential).
  • Experience of supervision of OBPs and providing 1:1 psychological interventions (can include OBP work). (Essential).
  • Evidence of working knowledge and delivery experience of high intensity intervention group work. (Essential).
  • Experienced evidence in designing, conducting, analysing and evaluating applied psychological research. (Essential).

This role allows the flexibility of Hybrid working, in line with the home working policy. Please note there are 6 positions available at various locations.
