Job summary

Forensic Testing Service is seeking a Development Scientist on a temporary maternity cover to join the laboratory development group. You will help develop and implement new analytical methods, train staff, and assist with investigations while ensuring quality and compliance.

With LC-MS/MS experience and a strong eye for process improvements, you will work across departments to deliver accurate results and maintain equipment, contributing to the organisation's ISO17025 and Lab51 standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Forensic Science or Toxicology.
• Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) and ISO/IEC 17025 familiarity.
• Experience with LC-MS/MS instrumentation.

Responsibilities

• Carry out work plans to develop, validate and implement new test methods in the laboratories.
• Train staff on new methods before routine use.
• Assist with specialist analytical investigations and troubleshooting.
• Maintain analytical equipment and troubleshoot issues to minimise downtime.
• Contribute to documentation and SOP improvement to ISO17025 and Lab51 standards.
• Communicate complex information to service users in line with procedures.
