Job summary

Mountain Healthcare is seeking Forensic Custody Healthcare Professionals to deliver clinical care within police custody settings. Nurses and Paramedics will assess detainees, treat acute needs and collaborate with custody teams to safeguard welfare and support justice processes.

You will gain exposure to forensic documentation, evidential sampling and accredited training in a unique clinical environment. We offer structured development, shift patterns across 24/7 rosters, and a generous joining

Qualifications

• NMC registration for nurses or HCPC registration for paramedics.
• Full UK driving licence with few penalty points.
• Ability to obtain enhanced DBS clearance.
• Right to work in the UK and 3+ years UK residency.
• At least 3 years post-qualification experience in acute or related settings.
• Willingness to undertake externally accredited forensic training within year one.

Responsibilities

• Conduct clinical and capacity assessments.
• Manage acute healthcare needs and emergencies.
• Support mental health, safeguarding and substance misuse needs.
• Collect and document forensic evidence.
• Maintain accurate clinical and evidential records.
• Collaborate with police, NHS and partner agencies.
• Attend hospital blood procedures under relevant acts.
• Provide professional statements and court attendance when required.
