Job summary

Mountain Healthcare, one of the UK’s leading forensic healthcare providers, is recruiting Forensic Custody Healthcare Professionals in Guildford. If you are a Registered Nurse (NMC) or Paramedic (HCPC) with at least three years of post-qualification experience, you will work autonomously within custody suites to assess and care for detainees.

You’ll deliver clinical assessments, respond to emergencies, collect and document evidence where required, and liaise with custody teams and partner

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with current NMC registration or Paramedic with current HCPC registration.
• At least three years’ post-qualification experience in an acute or relevant setting.
• Strong assessment, communication and decision-making skills, with confidence working autonomously.
• Calm, professional and compassionate approach with vulnerable people.

Responsibilities

• Conduct clinical assessments to determine fitness for detention, interview and release.
• Manage medical emergencies and provide healthcare advice in custody settings.
• Support detainees with mental health needs, substance misuse and vulnerabilities.
• Collect, preserve and document forensic samples in line with standards.
• Produce accurate clinical and evidential records, including injury documentation.
• Liaise with police, custody teams and NHS services to support safe onward care.
• Attend hospital blood procedures under the Road Traffic Act.
• Prepare professional statements and attend court as a healthcare witness.
