Job summary

Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust seeks a Consultant Psychiatrist to join our women’s secure inpatient service in Norwich. You will provide clinical care and leadership for Whitlingham Ward, the women’s low to medium secure inpatient unit, within a Forensic Mental Health Services framework.

The role involves delivering high-quality care in a secure setting, shaping treatment pathways, supervising junior medical staff, and contributing to teaching and governance across the service.

Qualifications

• Entry on the GMC register with Licence to practise.
• Approved Clinician Status.
• Section 12(2) Approved under the Mental Health Act.
• Specialist Register or within 6 months of CCST.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical care and leadership for Whitlingham Ward.
• Lead and contribute to Forensic Mental Health services for the trust.
• Supervise junior medical staff and contribute to teaching and training.
