Job summary

ASA Recruitment is seeking a confident Support Worker to assist individuals with forensic histories, complex needs, mental health needs and challenging behaviours. Use PBS and trauma-informed approaches to create safe, supportive environments and promote independence.

Qualifications

• 6+ months’ experience in forensic, complex care or behaviours that challenge.
• Confidence using PBS and trauma-informed approaches.
• Right to Work in the UK and available for up to full-time (36 hours per week).
• Ability to stay calm, consistent and professional when situations become challenging.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build trusting relationships.
• Flexibility to work days, nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centred support to individuals with forensic and complex support needs.
• Support people experiencing behaviours that challenge using PBS and behavioural strategies.
• Follow care plans, risk assessments and crisis plans.
• Use trauma-informed approaches to understand and respond to individual needs.
• Remain calm and professional during periods of distress or crisis.
• Support with medication in line with MAR charts and procedures.
• Promote independence through daily living, personal care and community engagement.
• Build positive relationships based on trust, respect and boundaries.
• Recognise and report changes in health, wellbeing or behaviour.
• Work with families, social care professionals and multidisciplinary teams.
• Complete accurate daily notes and care documentation.
