Job summary

Galliford Try is seeking a Site Agent – Environment on the Packington / Measham project. You will join the Infrastructure Waste Water Environment Business on a £60m Severn Trent AMP 8 framework, based around Packington and Measham with travel across the region.

You will be responsible for leading on-site delivery, ensuring safe practices, coordinating daily site activities and managing labour, plant and materials to meet programme and cost targets.

Qualifications

  • Experience in heavy civils or water industry environments.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications and programmes.
  • Proven experience leading teams on construction sites.

Job description

SITE AGENT – ENVIRONMENT
Packington / Measham

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Foremanto join the team at Galliford Try within our Infrastructure Waste Water Environment Business on the Severn Trent AMP 8 Framework.

Ideally, you will based in or around the Packington and Measham area and will have the opportunity to travel across multiple sites/projects in the Region.

What you will be doing:

Working on a £60m Severn Trent Project, you will be part of the team that upgrades the Waste Water Treatment works, Pump Stations and 60km Pipeline to improve the River Mease.

In the role of Foreman, you will play a key part in the safe, high‑quality delivery of works on site, supporting the project team to meet both client and organisational expectations.

Responsibilities include:
  • Promoting and maintaining a safe, healthy and inclusive working environment on site.
  • Supervising and supporting the site workforce and supply chain on a day‑to‑day basis.
  • Leading and coordinating daily site‑based construction activities.
  • Managing labour, plant and materials to meet programme and cost targets.
  • Identifying, reporting and supporting the management of any changes in scope, design, programme or commercial impact.
  • Ensuring both temporary and permanent works are delivered in line with approved designs and quality standards.
  • Understanding and implementing temporary works requirements where applicable.
  • Providing regular progress and performance updates to the Site Manager.
  • Ensuring site teams and partners are working to the latest design and construction information.
  • Carrying out regular health and safety inspections and promoting best practice.
  • Ensuring RAMS, permits to work, site inductions and safety briefings are completed correctly and consistently.
  • Escalating technical challenges or unforeseen issues promptly and constructively.
  • Maintaining robust quality assurance and control processes.
  • Completing accurate and detailed daily site records and diaries
About You:

You’ll be someone who leads by example, values teamwork and takes pride in creating a positive, respectful site culture. You will bring:

  • A strong commitment to health, safety and wellbeing.
  • A good understanding of quality assurance processes.
  • Experience working in heavy civils and/or water industry environments.
  • Confidence reading and interpreting drawings, specifications, programmes and technical information.
  • Proven experience leading teams within a construction site environment.
  • Clear and effective communication skills.

  • A relevant qualification in construction, engineering or a related discipline.
