Job summary

County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Consultant Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Surgeon with a specialist interest in diabetic foot care. The post is based at Darlington Memorial Hospital, with outpatient, theatre and MDT commitments across multiple sites, including Bishop Auckland Hospital and University Hospital of North Durham.

Qualifications

Fellowship trained in Foot and Ankle Surgery.
Provider status for Advanced Trauma Life Support.
Specialist Diabetic foot knowledge and treatment competencies.
Full GMC registration and UK licence to practice.

Responsibilities

Deliver a safe and outstanding Trauma and Orthopaedic service and fully participate on the on call rota.
Plan future developments in the service.
Care for patients in your charge and ensure proper departmental function.
Supervise junior staff and participate in postgraduate and undergraduate teaching.
Encourage and participate in research and audits.
Meet CPD requirements and attend weekly educational sessions.
Participate in clinical audit and clinical governance.
Provide opinion in cases against the Trust.
Deputise in absence of colleagues to maintain patient care.
