Job summary

Supply Desk is seeking a dedicated Food Technology Teacher to join a welcoming school in the Watford area starting this September. The full-time role focuses on delivering curriculum-aligned Food Technology lessons, developing students' practical cooking and nutrition skills, and promoting safe, inclusive learning.

You will monitor progress, communicate with staff and parents, and participate in extra-curricular activities.

Qualifications

• QTS is required to teach Food Technology.
• Experience teaching Food Technology or knowledge of the subject.
• Strong practical cooking and food preparation skills.
• Knowledge and promotion of safeguarding.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging Food Technology lessons to students across a range of ages and abilities.
• Track and report students’ progress.
• Liaise with parents/carers to deliver reports.
• Ensure practical lessons are delivered in a safe, organised, and inclusive environment.
• Support students in developing their cooking, food preparation, nutrition, and food safety skills.
• Contribution to extra-curricular activities and after-school clubs.
• Cooperation with colleagues in order to deliver the best possible outcomes.

Supply Desk are seeking a professional, passionate, and dedicated Food Technology Teacher to join a welcoming and inclusive school in the Watford area, starting this September.

This full-time role is ideal for a teacher who is passionate about Food Technology and enjoys delivering engaging, practical, and creative lessons. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, adaptable, and committed to helping students develop their knowledge, practical skills, creativity, and confidence while contributing positively to the wider school community.

You will be responsible for planning and delivering high-quality, curriculum-aligned Food Technology lessons, providing students with opportunities to develop their practical cooking and food preparation skills alongside their understanding of nutrition, food safety, and healthy eating. You will monitor and assess student progress, maintain a safe and well-organised practical learning environment, and communicate effectively with colleagues, parents, and carers where appropriate.

The role also offers opportunities to become involved in extra-curricular activities and school initiatives, helping to enrich students' educational experience and encourage an interest in cooking, nutrition, healthy lifestyles, and practical skills.

Requirements:

• Qualified Teaching Status (QTS)
• Food Technology teaching experience or relevant subject knowledge
• Passion for the development of learning
• Knowledge/Maintenance/Promotion of safeguarding
• Strong practical skills and knowledge of food preparation, nutrition, and food safety
