Job description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and inspiring Food Technology Teacher to join a dynamic Design & Technology department. The successful candidate will have a passion for food education, a strong subject knowledge, and the ability to deliver creative, engaging, and practical lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4. A commitment to fostering a love of cooking, nutrition, and healthy lifestyles is essential. Beginning June 2025.

Duties as a Food Technology Teacher:
  1. Plan, prepare and deliver high-quality lessons in line with the national curriculum.
  2. Promote food safety, hygiene, and nutrition awareness.
  3. Support and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback.
  4. Manage resources effectively, including kitchen spaces and equipment.
  5. Contribute to extra-curricular activities such as cooking clubs or themed events.
  6. Maintain high standards of classroom behaviour and health & safety.
Minimum Requirements:
  1. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  2. A degree in Food Technology or a related subject.
  3. Experience teaching Food Technology at secondary level (KS3 and KS4).
  4. Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
  5. A commitment to inclusion and raising student achievement.
  6. A creative and practical approach to teaching.
