Food Technician Teacher – Thirsk
Full-Time | Temporary (with potential for extension) | Starting ASAP
Pay: £120 - £190 per day (dependent on experience)

Are you a passionate and organised Food Technician or Food Technology Teacher looking to inspire the next generation of chefs and culinary enthusiasts?

Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a well-regarded secondary school in the Thirsk area who are seeking a dedicated Food Technician Teacher to join their Design & Technology department. This is a full-time role to begin as soon as possible, continuing for the remainder of the academic year, with the potential to become permanent.

The ideal candidate will:

• Hold QTS or relevant teaching qualifications in Food Technology or a related field

• Have recent experience teaching Food Technology at KS3 and KS4

• Demonstrate excellent classroom management and organisational skills

• Be enthusiastic, proactive and committed to supporting student achievement

• Be confident in preparing practical food lessons and managing health & safety in a food tech environment

Responsibilities include:

• Planning and delivering engaging and practical food lessons

• Ensuring the safe use of kitchen equipment and ingredients

• Supporting students with coursework and practical assessments

• Collaborating with department colleagues to maintain high teaching standards
