Job summary

Hayesfield Girls’ School in Bath is seeking a Food Technology Technician to join the Design & Technology Department. You will prepare ingredients and equipment for practical lessons, support students, and help maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene.

You will manage kitchen resources, assist with order placing within budget, and liaise with staff on equipment maintenance and event displays.

Qualifications

• Catering equipment handling and demonstration capabilities.
• Support for pupils during practical sessions with kitchen safety guidance.
• Stock, orders and supplier communications using standard systems.

Responsibilities

• Kitchen preparation: set up ingredients, tools and catering equipment for lessons and demonstrations.
• Student support: assist teachers during practical sessions and guide safe use of machinery.
• Resource & stock management: purchase ingredients within budget and maintain stock records.
• Health & safety: ensure COSHH, Food Hygiene and Health & Safety compliance across spaces.
• Maintenance & events: coordinate with site team for repairs and assist with Open Evenings and displays.

Working closely with the Subject Lead , you will ensure our teaching kitchens run smoothly, safely, and efficiently.
