Job summary

Smile Education is recruiting a qualified Food Technology Teacher to work in a Manchester secondary school. You will deliver engaging Food Preparation and Nutrition lessons across KS3 and KS4, blending practical cooking with theory to build GCSE outcomes.

The role requires QTS, strong classroom management, and safeguarding checks. You will plan lessons, assess progress, and contribute to the Design & Technology department, with ASAP start and long-term commitment in Manchester.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is required.
• Experience teaching Food Technology in a UK secondary school is preferred.
• Ability to teach KS3/KS4 Food Technology with GCSE preparation.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Food Preparation and Nutrition across KS3 and KS4.
• Plan engaging practical and theory-based lessons.
• Support pupils toward GCSE Food Preparation and Nutrition outcomes.
• Develop practical cooking skills and nutritional knowledge.
• Maintain high standards of food hygiene and safety.
• Manage behaviour during practical and classroom sessions.
• Assess pupil progress and provide feedback.
