Job summary

Compass Group UK&I ESS Defence is recruiting a part-time Cleaner to join the cleaning and facilities teams, contracted to 25 hours per week and 49.2 weeks per year. Your shift pattern includes 5 out of 7 days, supporting 250+ UK military establishments and secure environments.

You will be responsible for routine cleaning tasks and maintaining hygienic spaces across defence sites. The role emphasises a hands-on approach, keen attention to detail, and flexible working patterns.

Qualifications

• Experience in cleaning or similar role preferred.
• Ability to work in a hands-on role.
• Flexible working pattern including evenings or weekends may be required.

Responsibilities

• Work with cleaning and facilities teams to keep environments safe and hygienic for clients and customers.
• Dust, sweep, polish, mop and vacuum designated areas to a high standard.
• Ensure surfaces, floors, windows and touchpoints are sanitised regularly.
• Perform additional cleaning duties as required, such as mopping up spillages quickly and efficiently.
• Empty and dispose of bin waste; monitor and restock cleaning supplies.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Working alongside our cleaning and facilities teams to keep environments safe and hygienic for every client and customer
• Dusting, sweeping, polishing, mopping, and vacuuming designated areas to a high standard
• Ensuring surface areas, floors, windows, and other touchpoints are sanitised regularly
• Performing additional cleaning duties as and when required, such as mopping up spillages quickly and efficiently
• Emptying and disposing of bin
  waste Monitoring and re-stocking cleaning supplies.

Our ideal Cleaner will:

• Have brilliant organisational skills and attention to detail
• Enjoy working in a hands-on role
• Have had cleaning experience in a similar role, although this is not essential
• Have a flexible approach to working
