Solent University, Southampton, invites applications for a Food Service Assistant with Sodexo, delivering high-quality dining experiences for students, staff and visitors. You will prepare counters and coffee stations, serve customers, and help maintain safety and hygiene standards in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in catering, hospitality, retail, coffee shops, restaurants, cafés or food service would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food service counters and coffee stations for service.
• Produce hot and cold drinks to brand standards.
• Serve customers in a friendly and professional manner.
• Operate tills, handle cash and process payments accurately.
• Assist with stock replenishment and stock checks.
• Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene.
• Complete temperature checks and food safety records.
• Wash up and support kitchen operations as required.
• Ensure dining, serving and preparation areas are clean, tidy and welcoming.
• Work as part of a team to deliver an excellent customer experience.

What You’ll Do

• Preparing food service counters and coffee stations ready for service
• Producing hot and cold drinks to brand standards
• Serving customers in a friendly and professional manner
• Operating tills, handling cash and processing payments accurately
• Assisting with stock replenishment and stock checks
• Maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene
• Completing temperature checks and food safety records
• Washing up and supporting kitchen operations as required
• Ensuring all dining, serving and preparation areas are clean, tidy and welcoming
• Working as part of a team to deliver an excellent customer experience
