The role involves managing HACCP, audits, and continuous improvement to support a strong safety culture. The successful candidate will drive compliance with legislation, customer standards, and quality requirements, while coaching teams and delivering training across the site.

Qualifications

• Experience within a food manufacturing environment.
• Strong working knowledge of HACCP and Food Safety Management Systems.
• Experience supporting or leading BRCGS audits.
• Good understanding of GMP, food safety legislation, and quality management systems.
• Internal auditing experience.

Responsabilités

• Manage and maintain the site's HACCP and Food Safety Management Systems.
• Lead internal audits and support external audits, including BRCGS and customer audits.
• Ensure compliance with food safety legislation, customer standards, and quality requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives relating to food safety, hygiene, and quality performance.
• Review and update policies, procedures, risk assessments, specifications, and quality documentation.
• Investigate non-conformances, customer complaints, and quality issues, implementing corrective and preventative actions.
• Support and monitor GMP and hygiene standards across manufacturing operations.
• Deliver food safety training and coaching across site.
• Monitor, analyse, and report on food safety and quality KPIs.
• Liaise with customers, suppliers, auditors, and regulatory bodies when required.
• Promote and embed a positive food safety culture throughout the business.

The Opportunity

We are working with a food manufacturing business in Gloucestershire that is looking to appoint a Food Safety & Quality Manager to take ownership of site food safety, quality, and compliance systems.

This is a hands-on position offering responsibility for maintaining industry standards, customer requirements, and regulatory compliance, while driving continuous improvement and supporting the development of a strong food safety culture across the site.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain the site's HACCP and Food Safety Management Systems.
• Lead internal audits and support external audits, including BRCGS and customer audits.
• Ensure compliance with food safety legislation, customer standards, and quality requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives relating to food safety, hygiene, and quality performance.

The Candidate

The successful candidate will have:

• Experience within a food manufacturing environment.
• Strong working knowledge of HACCP and Food Safety Management Systems.
• Experience supporting or leading BRCGS audits.
• Good understanding of GMP, food safety legislation, and quality management systems.
• Internal auditing experience.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with operational teams.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Food Safety Level 4 and HACCP qualifications would be advantageous.
