Job summary

G2 Recruitment Group Limited is seeking a Food Safety Officer for a 3-month rolling contract with a North West local authority. The role offers hybrid working and an immediate interview window, with a strong likelihood of extension as part of a supportive Environmental Health team.

The ideal candidate will hold an Environmental Health Degree (or equivalent) with EHORB registration, and recent UK Local Authority experience delivering Food Safety functions, including Category A-E inspections.

• EHORB registration or equivalent.
• Experience delivering Food Safety functions within a UK Local Authority.
• Competent in Category A-E food hygiene inspections.

A Local Authority in the North West is looking to appoint an experienced Food Safety Officer to join their Environmental Health team on an initial 3-month rolling contract, with a strong likelihood of extension.

This is an excellent opportunity for an officer seeking flexibility while working within a supportive and well-established local authority team.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct food hygiene inspections in accordance with the Food Law Code of Practice.
• Carry out food premises interventions and revisit programmes.
• Provide advice and guidance to food business operators.
• Ensure compliance with relevant food safety legislation.

Requirements

• Environmental Health Degree or equivalent qualification.
• EHORB Registration (or equivalent recognised qualification).
• Recent experience delivering Food Safety functions within a UK Local Authority.
• Competent and confident carrying out Category A-E food hygiene inspections.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle desirable.
