Job summary

West Sussex-based food manufacturing site is seeking a Product Quality Assurance Technician to support technical and production teams in maintaining food safety, legality and quality. The role is hands-on, requires attention to detail, and involves regular quality checks, documentation and investigations into any quality issues that arise.

The successful candidate will work a 48-hour shift pattern across 5 days with occasional nights, and collaborate closely with QA, Production, and Line Leaders

Qualifications

• Experience in food manufacturing or fresh produce preferred.
• Good understanding of quality and food safety principles.
• Strong attention to detail and methodical approach to checks and documentation.
• Good computer skills and confidence using standard systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing production requirements and working hours.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Carry out and record quality checks on incoming raw materials and finished products.
• Check that products are correctly labelled and meet specifications.
• Ensure up-to-date specifications and documentation are used.
• Monitor production and packing lines for quality issues.
• Ensure quality equipment is properly maintained and calibrated.
• Support taste panels, shelf-life assessments and product evaluations.
• Communicate quality concerns with QA, Production, and Line Leaders.
