Job summary

South57 Recruitment is seeking a motivated Production Supervisor for our Potton, Bedfordshire site. You will lead a team of around 14 (Line Leaders and Production Operatives) to ensure daily production targets are met safely and to high quality standards.

Reporting to the Senior Supervisor, you will oversee shift operations, manage training, and drive continuous improvement while upholding HACCP, GMP and health & safety requirements.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years' experience in food manufacturing.
• Experience leading people as a Supervisor, Team Leader or Line Leader.
• Knowledge of HACCP, CCPs, allergen control and GMP.
• Good understanding of health and safety in a manufacturing environment.
• Mechanically minded with willingness to learn machine operation.
• Confident with production paperwork and basic IT including email/Excel.
• Clear spoken and written English.
• Flexibility to work shifts, overtime and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, motivate and support production employees to achieve daily targets and maintain high performance.
• Ensure production schedules are followed and targets are met efficiently and on time.
• Maintain high standards of product quality, hygiene, food safety and housekeeping.
• Ensure all team members follow safe working practices and comply with relevant policies.
• Monitor productivity, attendance and performance, addressing issues promptly.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, reduce waste and minimise downtime.
• Communicate production priorities, shift handovers and updates clearly to team and management.
• Support induction, training and development of team members.
• Respond to production issues and equipment or staffing challenges to minimise disruption.
• Develop understanding of machinery and assist in resolving issues.
• Ensure production records and documentation are completed accurately.
