Job summary

Swissport in Belfast City Airport is hiring a Catering Agent/Lounge Cook to join the Back of House team. The role covers food preparation and presentation, ensuring compliance with food safety standards and SOPs.

37.5 hours per week, with shift work from 4am to 10pm across a 7-day operation; flexible start times required. The role includes an attractive salary package, training opportunities, and access to staff benefits.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Manage the kitchen area within the lounge, ensuring a safe, hygienic environment.
• Prepare hot and cold food for self-service in the lounge.
• Ensure food quality and presentation per SOPs for consistent service excellence.
• Store, handle and package food safely; follow the Food Safety Management System.
• Maintain temperature records for hot and cold foods as required.
• Assist Back of House team with duties as needed.
• Support local leadership with adhoc requests.

Job Title: Catering Agent/Lounge Cook

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, between Monday – Sunday (shift work between 4am and 10pm) Flexibility required

Salary: £13.49 per hour, IIntroduction of a Night Shift Allowance of 0.85ph with hours worked between 23:59pm - 06:00 am

Recruitment to add in - Cook/pay/night shift/incr after 6 months/increase after 12months *subject to successful completion of probation/skills training

Responsibilities

As a Food preparation agent, you will report to the Shift Team Leader and will be a key member of the Back of House Team focusing on food preparation and food presentation in line with food safety standards and compliance.

• Manage the kitchen area within the lounge, maintaining a safe and hygienic environment.
• Prepare hot and cold food offerings to be presented on a self-service station within the lounge.
• To ensure the quality and presentation of food is prepared according to all SOPs to guarantee a consistently excellent standard of service.
• Ensure all food is stored, handled and packaged correctly.
• Follow our Food Safety Management System at all times.
• Maintain records of temperatures of hot food and cold storage according to the SOP.
• Assist Back of House team with duties as required.
• Adhoc reasonable requests by local leadership team.

• Experience working in hospitality, ideally in an operational environment.
• Ability to roll your sleeves up and be one of the team interacting with guests, our partners and suppliers.
• Previous Allergens and Food Safety qualifications (new training will be provided).
• Strong communication, interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multitask, prioritise tasks, and work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to be flexible with shifts depending on operational needs to cover a 7-day operation including early morning starts, evening finishing times.
• Proficiency in computer applications and systems.
• Knowledge of industry best practices, service standards, and safety regulations.
