Job summary

Unitemps Harper Adams is seeking a Shift Maintenance Engineer to support a fast-paced food production facility. The role reports to the Site Engineering Manager and requires flexibility to cover a rotating 4-on, 4-off shift pattern with 12-hour day and night shifts, plus occasional overtime for planned maintenance and holiday cover.

You will perform planned maintenance and repairs on production machinery, respond to faults, and ensure minimal disruption to production schedules while maintaining

Qualifications

• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs on production machinery and site services equipment.
• Responding promptly to equipment failures, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
• Maintaining records and documentation for maintenance, inspections and compliance.
• Developing understanding of site processes, equipment, utilities and systems.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs.
• Respond to equipment failures and perform root-cause analysis.
• Maintain production schedules with minimal disruption.
• Record work in CMMS and ensure all documentation is up to date.
• Plan, support and complete maintenance projects as required.
• Monitor spare parts usage and advise on stock levels.
• Handover clearly between shifts to ensure continuity.
• Collaborate with production, hygiene and quality teams to meet objectives.
• Liaise with external contractors and ensure safety standards are followed.
