Job summary

King's Oak Academy is seeking a Food and PE Technician to support practical activities in the Food and PE departments. You will set up equipment, prepare curriculum resources and reprographics, and maintain resources to enable safe, engaging sessions for staff and students.

You will ensure Health and Safety guidelines are followed and contribute to a positive learning environment across the school community.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths grade 4 or above (or equivalent).
• Hold a Food Hygiene Certificate.
• A Level or equivalent in Design Technology.

Job description

To be successful in the post, we are looking for a technician who will provide technical assistance and support to meet the practical requirements of the Food and PE department. This may include setting up equipment in both departments, preparing curriculum resources, as well as reprographics across both departments. They will prepare, provide, maintain and manage the necessary resources and information required to enable safe and engaging practical activities to be undertaken by staff and students. Maintain an appropriate Health and Safety culture ensuring that all relevant Health and Safety regulations and guidelines are always adhered to.
You will have:

• Good Literacy and numeracy skills (including GCSE English and Maths at grade 4 or above - or equivalent qualifications).
• Hold a relevant vocational qualification - e.g Food Hygiene Certificate
• Educated to a minimum of A Level standard in Design Technology or equivalent experience
• Excellent time management skills
• Great communication and interpersonal skills.
