Job summary

Glebe Farm Foods Ltd is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join the Technical Team in our on-site laboratory. You will carry out a range of testing and support daily lab operations to ensure ingredients and finished products meet quality and food safety standards.

Ideal candidates have at least 12 months’ laboratory experience in food manufacturing, strong IT skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

• Ideally, you’ll have at least 12 months’ experience working in a laboratory environment and be keen to develop your knowledge within food manufacturing.
• A degree in Food Science, Chemistry or a related subject would be an advantage but is not essential.
• Good IT and computer skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out analytical and chemical testing of raw materials and finished products
• Preparing and sending samples for microbiological testing
• Carrying out environmental and plant hygiene swabbing
• Reviewing test results and taking appropriate action when results fall outside specification, including re-sampling and re-testing
• Maintaining accurate laboratory records and using LIMS or similar laboratory database systems
