Job summary

First Call Contract Services Limited seeks an experienced Hygiene Supervisor to lead the site hygiene team at Southall. You will supervise operatives, coordinate cleaning tasks, and ensure production areas meet food safety standards.

You will organise rotas, monitor attendance and support audits, while maintaining accurate hygiene records and training documentation. The role is hands-on and requires proactive problem-solving and strong communication with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Previous supervisory or team leader experience in food manufacturing or similar industrial setting.
• Understanding of industrial cleaning practices and hygiene standards.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the hygiene team, allocate work and ensure tasks meet schedules and procedures.
• Organise staff rotas, monitor attendance and arrange replacement staff as needed.
• Ensure staffing levels meet production requirements and deadlines.
• Carry out routine hygiene inspections and drive corrective actions.
• Coordinate hygiene activities during shutdowns with Production and Engineering teams.
• Support audits and inspections to demonstrate compliance with standards.
• Maintain hygiene records and training documentation, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Monitor operatives and provide guidance to maintain high standards.
• Train and induct new staff and agency workers on cleaning procedures and site rules.
• Supervise external cleaning contractors to required standards and safety.
• Support pest control program and report activity for follow-up.
• Ensure proper storage and handling of cleaning chemicals per COSHH.
