Job summary

Alexander Steele Recruitment is partnering with a London-based food manufacturer to recruit an experienced Hygiene Supervisor. You will lead the hygiene team and drive food safety, ensuring the site meets high standards and audits.

The role requires a hands-on leader who can develop the team, optimise cleaning processes and collaborate with Production, Engineering and Technical teams in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Hygiene Supervisor or similar in food manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of food safety standards and GMP practices.
• Experience leading and developing hygiene teams.
• Familiarity with COSHH regulations and chemical handling.
• Auditing and compliance experience in a manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and support the Hygiene team to high standard performance.
• Identify opportunities to improve cleaning efficiencies and hygiene outcomes.
• Coordinate hygiene activities with Production, Engineering and Technical teams.
• Support audits and ensure documentation meets food safety requirements.
• Oversee safe handling of cleaning chemicals and COSHH compliance.
• Maintain hygiene records and training documentation.
• Plan and coordinate production shutdown cleaning activities.
• Promote a culture of food safety and continuous improvement.
