Job summary

The National Trust is seeking a Food & Beverage Assistant Manager at Hidcote Manor Garden, Chipping Campden. You will support the operation of all outlets, driving excellent customer service, and helping lead a team to maintain high standards in food and drink service.

You will work with the Food & Beverage Manager to develop staff, manage budgets, and ensure compliance with health and safety and NT policies.

Hours: This role is based on annualised hours, where the amount of hours you work each month may vary, however your salary will be paid in 12 equal instalments over the year. You'll work 1,950 hours per year which is the equivalent to an average of 37.5 hours per week.

Working Pattern: Hidcote is open year-round, with core visitor opening hours typically 10am to 5pm during the main season (March to October) and reduced opening hours during the winter months. Working patterns vary to support seasonal demand, with longer hours and increased weekend working during peak visitor periods, and shorter operating days during the quieter winter season. Typical summer shifts are 9am to 5.30pm, five days per week, with shorter shifts possible in late autumn/winter. Regular weekend and Bank Holiday working is required. Weekend duties are shared across the management team through a rota, and flexibility is required to support the operational needs of the property.

Salary: £27,612 per annum

Internally you'll be known as a Food & Beverage Assistant Manager (Band 2)

As Food and Beverage Assistant Manager, you’ll be working closely with the Food and Beverage Manager. You’ll be helping to look after the entire operation, keeping consistently high standards in the team, in the outlets, and in the food and drink we prepare and serve. You’ll always have an eye on ways to improve service and standards for our visitors.

You’ll support the team to help build a great place to work. This could include helping with recruiting and training new people or developing the team. You’ll make sure that the team follow all relevant legislation and National Trust policies.

You’ll be setting and achieving financial targets to increase income and profits. This could be by driving sales through controlling resources and achieving the best possible customer service.

We’ll give you an induction that fits the job, and training in allergens and food safety, plus any mentoring needed to help you in your role. You can sign up for further professional training and development if you wish.
