Job summary

Equans is seeking a Food and Cleaning Team Leader to manage daily operations at Queen Alexandra Hospital, Portsmouth. The role is full-time, 35 hours per week, with a salary of £28,083 per annum and a comprehensive benefits package.

The successful candidate will supervise housekeepers and patient services staff, ensure roster coverage, and maintain high standards of service in line with NHS requirements. The position offers career development opportunities within Equans' facilities management

• Experience in performance management and appraisals.
• Computer literacy with Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• supervise housekeepers and patient services staff daily and ensure rosters and work allocation align with standards.
• oversee service quality at ward/department level including cleaning and patient food/beverage delivery.
• supervise staff including recruitment, induction, training, attendance, absence, and performance reviews.
• monitor attendance and lateness, support staff via Occupational Health referrals where needed, issue warnings or reviews as appropriate.
• conduct daily quality checks and PMS-based performance monitoring and report findings.
• ensure compliance with NHS Standards for Healthcare Food & Drink and Cleanliness in Hospitals.

Equans is looking for a Food and Cleaning Team Leader to join our team in Queen Alexandra Hospital, Portsmouth, Hampshire, PO6 3LY on a permanent basis. This is a full time role working 35 hours per week. On offer is a salary of £28,083.00 per annum and benefits package.

Unsocial payments will be paid for working Saturday, Sunday and Monday to Friday from 20:00 – 06:00.

What will you deliver?

• Responsibility and supervision of housekeepers and patient services assistants daily. Ensuring full cover is provided regarding duty rosters and allocation of work to ensure effective completion of duties in line with the performance standards.
• Supervision and control of standards of service delivered to the Trust at ward/departmental level which will include the delivery of the cleaning, along with patient food and beverage service.
• Supervision of staff, including recruitment, interviewing, induction, training, control of absence, timekeeping, appraisal, performance, standards of behaviour and dress.
• Monitoring of staff attendance, in relation to lateness, childcare, and sickness absence, including offering support via completion of Occupational Health referrals where appropriate. Follow up by issuing of appropriate warnings or completing reviews in line with the relevant Trust Policies.
• Conduct daily visual inspection and complete quality control checks. In line with formal performance monitoring regarding the PMS system and report as required.
• Ensure compliance with NHS Plan requirements, including National Standards for Healthcare Food and Drink and National Standards for Cleanliness in Hospitals.

Who are we looking for?

Essential

• Experience of performance management of employees including appraisals

• Experience of working within Hotel & Catering industry and/or Facilities Management sector
