Poundland & Dealz in the United Kingdom is recruiting a highly credible Buyer to lead our Household FMCG category within the Commercial team. Based at our Walsall site, this hybrid role combines office and home working.

As a Buyer, you will own category strategies, negotiate with suppliers, and drive sales, profitability and customer satisfaction across the lifecycle. You will partner with the Senior Buyer and analyse spend to develop range plans that keep customers finding the right products at

Qualifications

• Experience leading an FMCG category and delivering strategies with targets, KPIs and forecasting.
• Strong budgeting, reporting and spend analysis skills.
• Able to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
• Deep understanding of the sector and competitors.
• Thorough understanding of the supply chain process.

Responsibilities

• Maximise category performance, driving growth and margins while ensuring availability.
• Collaborate with the commercial team, retail operations and suppliers to meet critical path deadlines.
• Identify and develop new range opportunities and create a robust category plan.
• Identify category range and promotional opportunities; resolve supply issues and recommend actions.
• Interpret customer insights and data to identify trends and shopping habits.
• Meet suppliers and attend trade fairs to negotiate cost of goods and explore opportunities.
• Lead development of category strategies with research and analysis (spend, benchmarking).
